The HEAR Moms’ Night Out is exactly what it sounds like: a moms’ night out with other homeschool moms. Every other month a homeschool mom opens her home on a Friday night, and homeschool moms get to leave their family at home for the evening, to gather and fellowship with each other. This is a night of encouragement and education, and more. It is a night when Moms get to gather to share their concerns about homeschooling and receive valuable information and support. Veteran moms encourage new moms while new-to-the-group moms get to know each other and forge new friendships. Moms with children with same interests, age, or special needs have a wonderful opportunity to create new relationships, mixed with lots of laughter, tears and prayers. The agenda for the night varies according to the night’s Hostess but the night typically starts with prayer and devotion, and then the evening usually evolves into sharing helpful ideas, accomplishments and struggles of homeschooling. Moms’ Night Out is a lifeline for the moms to actually talk one on one with each other and receive that much needed support. A big highlight of the evening is the refreshment time. The refreshment is entirely the choice of the hosting mom with some hosts choosing to furnish all the refreshments while others will opt to ask that guests bring a snack, which often results in sharing of the recipes.
Moms’ Night Out can be a tremendous blessing and all of our HEAR moms are encouraged to plug in to the group |

Dear Homeschool Fathers,
I would like to share the acrostic FATHER with you to give you encouragement in homeschooling your children.
The letter F stands for friend. Next to our wife, we need to be the best friend our child/children have. We know friends share information with each other and by being a friend; our child/children will talk and want to do things with us.
The letter A is for attitude. We need to have a good attitude in everything we do especially with our children. We should not provoke our children in any way.
The letter T is for time. Time will not wait for us to share time with our children. We should devote as much time possible in teaching our children. We all have different talents and we need to devote our time in teaching them what we know. Many veteran homeschool fathers can tell you how time flies and how they have missed many opportunities to spend time with their children.
The next letter is H. H is for hearing. When our children talk to us we need to listen. No matter what their age or how unimportant we think what they are saying is; we still need to listen. Sometimes we have to listen between the lines. When we talk to our heavenly Father we want him to listen. It is the same with our children
E is for edify. We need to lift our child/children up when he or she has accomplished something. Praise them when praise is due. Show them you care.
The last letter is R. This letter indicates being real. Be who we are and don’t try to prove to our child/children we are something we aren’t. Even if some fathers do not have a higher education; our talents and wisdom mean more to our children than we sometimes think.
Fathers, Remember how important you are to your family in supporting them. You support your wife and children spiritually, emotionally, and financially in order for your wife to home educate them. God will honor your part in home educating your children.
May God bless you,
Donny
